Junior Football: In-form Irish Street on the road to title challengers

Things are very tight at the top of the Premiership, Drummond after their 4-2 win at Lincoln Courts are back at the top of the table with Foyle Wanderers and Claudy Rovers breathing down their necks.

BBOB chances of mounting a challenge virtually ended after they drew 0-0 with the improving Irish Street. In the other game Tullyally Colts had a 3-1 win at Caw.

There is a full programme of fixtures in the Premiership this Saturday.

Ardmore v Caw

These two sides are merely fulfilling fixtures, Ardmore were disappointed to lose the League Cup final and manager Damien McGee will have to get his troops motivated again which might not be easy.

Caw are in free fall but should be safe however manager Andy Stevenson must try and get his players re focused for their remaining games this looks like a home win.

Newbuildings United Res v Claudy Rovers

After Irish Street’s draw with BBOB last week Newbuildings now find themselves at the bottom and looking odds on to be playing Division one football next season. They take on a Claudy side full of confidence who after winning the League cup are going all out to add the Premiership title to their trophies.

Prediction: Claudy Rovers.

Drummond v Irish Street

Geoff Ferris will be absolutely delighted to be sitting top of the pack he has worked wonders with his side especially with the young players he has brought in. However he knows that there is still a long way to go.

Irish Street must be wondering why they have waited so long to start to play their best football of the season, four points from their last two games has doubled their tally for the season. This may be their biggest test yet.

Foyle Wanderers v BBOB

Can Wanderers maintain their title challenge, they certainly think so and on current form few would disagree, they are well organised and play to their strengths, they are also scoring plenty of goals.

The Old Boys look to be out of the title race, their recent form has been disappointing and manager Don Olphert must be wondering what has gone wrong, goals for sure in this one with the home side fancied to collect the points.
