JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Six of the bext for the Under-12s

Bertie Peacock Youths Under-12s made the 160-mile round trip to Irvinestown to take on Ballinamallard and continued their good form in the National League with a no nonsense performance.

However it must be said the Mallards themselves played some very nice football that caused the Peacocks rearguard a lot of concern.

Berties raced into a two goal lead in the first 15 minutes, which helped settle the boys down on a very narrow 3g pitch, the goals coming from Wan and T Boorman.

The game, which flowed end to end, was great to watch but Peacocks were in no mood to let it pass them by as the back four stood firm to anything that was thrown at them. The midfield worked their socks off and the attacking play on the day was much more clinical than their opponents as more goals were added from T Boorman, R Boorman, Brennan and McCartney.

Goalkeeper Chris Linton also pulled off a fine penalty save to add to what was a great team display. Well done boys!

The boys are away to Dungannon Youth this Saturday, kick-off 11am.
