Kee expecting battle at Town

INSTITUTE’S Head of Development Paul Kee knows his side aren’t going to get everything their own way at strugglers Banbridge Town, this Saturday (KO 2pm).

The home side, who currently sit second from bottom in the Belfast Telegraph Championship One table, have already caused problems for the Waterside men this campaign.

The Drumahoe men had midfielder Thomas McBride to thank as his late strike was enough to ensure a narrow 2-1 win over Town in October and Kee is expecting another close encounter this weekend.

“They have home advantage and they’ll be fighting for everything because they are down near the bottom of the table,” declared Kee.

“Although I wasn’t at the game earlier in the season the reports I got back was that Banbridge had a lot of men behind the ball and they were tough to be break down and I think that will be the same on Saturday, so we’ll have to roll our sleeves up and be ready for a battle.

“But we have won our last two games so hopefully we can keep this wee run going and pick up another three points at Banbridge.”

Kee also believes defeats at Tobermore United and Ards in recent weeks will have helped his side.

“I know we have struggle this season in matches were we maybe have to roll our sleeves up but I’m confident we have learned from the Tobermore and Ards games and we are better prepared for it now.”

’Stute who are likely to be using the same squad, which defeated Limavady United in the JJB Sports Irish Cup last weekend, for the trip to Crystal Park, are still without John Curran through injury.

Kee is hoping midfield duo Neil Harkin and McBride can continue their recent good form, with the Gobnascale man really turning it on against the Roesiders in their last game.

“Both Neil and Thomas sometimes have those wee moments whenever they switch off when it comes to defensive duties and if they can keep their concentrate levels up that will help,” added Kee.

“We all know that both of them are quality players in offensive positions in fact Harkin was in superb form against Limavady, while Thomas has been very good all season for us.”
