Kee believes his players are still finding their feet in the Premiership and because of that he’s confident they have more in the tank.

“We know where our weaknesses are,” he said.

“The three (Paddy McLaughlin, Mark Scoltock and Graham Crown) at the back have come in and done well as have Declan McKeever and Stephen Curry.

“In midfield we got a wee bit lost and some players need to be fitter but it’s still early season and we’re playing catch up. Ben Doherty and Paul McVeigh came in but we need our offensive options back in.

“We’ve had four games on the trot at home now but the Linfield game helped us.

“We’re still working on our Premiership mentality; you can see the difference between the Premiership and the First Division; there are no hiding places, it’s action all the time.

“It’s incessant as one or two found out against Warrenpoint. We’ll get fitter as the games go on, that is why the fitness coach is in.”

The Waterside man has been happy with his teams form in the opening five games and he has been particularly pleased with their form at the Riverside Stadium, where Stute have won two, lost one and drawn one.

“The first five games we’ve lost one. We’ve had four games on the trot at home now but the Linfield game helped us.”

Despite winning Kee wasn’t that impressed by any of his attacked minded players and he feels they need to improve over the coming weeks.

“He (Stephen O’Flynn) was in the right place, at the right time. He has got good presence in the box and if you put in good service, he’s dangerous,” Kee admitted.

“I didn’t think we held the ball up well enough on Saturday, and the ball kept coming out, we need to improve that.

“We need a presence in our forward three and we need the players linking up so the defence can get a break.”
