Kee fuming withchildishScoltock

Institute manager Paul Kee was furious with Mark Scoltock, after the big defender was rightfully sent-off for headbutting Glentoran’s Calum Birney, during Saturday’s game.

Leading 1-0 the centre-back clashed with Birney on 53 minutes and was rightfully dismissed by referee Ross Dunlop.

“It’s amateurish, it’s childish, it’s unacceptable from my point of view I have told him and he knows we’re not happy with him,” he stated.

“He will miss playing now and the team will miss him, because he has been playing well.

“He is the one who will be losing out because you get six matches for a head-butt. It’s absolutely daft, and it’s ruined his season in my opinion.

“I asked the referee and he said that Mark went with intent, but I think it was handbags at six paces, but if you lean with your head, which is what I think Scoltock has done, then you’re asking for trouble.”

Kee also wants his players to be a bit more street wise particularly now that they are in the Premiership.

“It’s game management and I talked to the players about that, because the players are still learning game management,” he added.

Glentoran got so many free-kicks because they are falling down, they are lying down, rolling over, but we are too honest.

“Particularly people like (Graham) Crown and boys like that, they stay on their feet, their good kids.

“Crown for instance was pushed down beside me but because he didn’t fall down and stayed on his feet nothing was given, then five seconds later he fouls and the boy collapses as if he has been pole axed and he gets a free-kick.

“We put ourselves under too much pressure and it’s partly our fault and we have to learn how to manage a game.

“We aren’t going to get refereeing decisions and I have been very disappointed this season with the strength of referees, now I’m not saying that contributes to our performance but it does cause us problems.

“But because of that we are going to have learn to manage games and learn it fast, we have to get a better understanding about getting free-kicks.”
