The Drumahoe man was full of praise for the Castlederg out-fit but conceded that some of his players weren’t on top form.

“It was good to come away with a point,” stated Kee.

“Dergview have done fairly well at home this year and we knew after the first half hour that we were in for a tough match.

“In fairness to them, after Glenavon in the League Cup, that was our toughest match so far this season, so we had to dig deep.”

Kee also praised his opposite number Richard Clarke, who organised his team well.

“They did well, Richard Clarke and Adam Lecky were excellent in midfield, and they did a number on us. Sometimes when the opposition do that, you have to take your hat off.

“We definitely had three or four players below par but that’s going to happen over the course of the season. They put a big shift in on Monday evening (against Coleraine) then having to come here and play on a heavy pitch.

“We never got to grips with the game quick enough. Even when we went ahead we still didn’t have a foothold in the game that we have enjoyed in previous weeks and months.

“We told the players at half-time that we are going to have to dig deep if we are going to get something out of the game and that’s what we did.

“I was quite happy with the effort and commitment in the second half and the good thing is we got a point, we have decent goal difference and we are on top of the league. I would have preferred a win and gone two points clear but that’s the nature of the league.”
