Kenning inspires big Moyola Park win against Sport and Leisure

Moyola travelled to Belfast on Saturday to take on Sport & Leisure Swifts and won 4-1 with two goals from Steven Kenning and one each from Robbie Lucas and Curtis Hassan with the latter also missing a penalty.

Moyola U16’s travelled to Dungannon to take on Enniskillen Rangers. The game started at a hectic paced with Moyola on the front foot from the kick-off. Downey bravely won a header just inside Rangers’ half to send the ball back into the penalty area. Glass controlled the ball, flicked it up to turn quickly and volley the ball past the surprised keeper. Enniskillen levelled minutes later as their striker slotted home.

Against the run of play Enniskillen took the lead. Cassidy saved the initial shot one-on-one with the forward but could do little as the loose ball was poked wide of him into to corner of the net.

Flanagan won the ball back in the Enniskillen half, broke into space in front of the goal mouth and then unleashed a powerful drive past the diving keeper low in the left-hand corner for the equalise.

McKee won the ball in the left full-back position and played a beautiful ball to the left wing. Glass’ cross was met by the head of Flanagan to give Moyola the deserved hard fought victory in this intriguing encounter between two good sides.

Moyola U12 travelled to Limavady on Saturday for a Coleraine League match and came away 4-2 losers in what was a very competitive and thrilling match.

Moyola fell behind early in the match when Limavady capitalized after Moyola failed to clear and the home team scored with a header.

Chances were now coming a plenty for both teams and it was Limavady who scored their second to leave Moyola undeservedly 2-0 down at half time.

After the break Moyola made a few tactical changes and it wasn’t long before they were back in the game when R.Lynn scored to leave it 2-1.

Against the run of play Moyola fell further behind when poor marking gifted Limavady their third. Despite this Moyola kept attacking and after a poor challenge in the box they were awarded a penalty. From the resulting spot kick Ronan ‘’THE GOAL MACHINE’’ Lynn scored his fourth in four games to set up a thrilling finish.

In injury time the game was put to rest when Limavady got a soft penalty to leave the score 4-2
