Killymoon see off Town

BANBRIDGE Town suffered their fifth league defeat in just eight game at the hand of Killymoon Rangers.

The Town sit four places off the bottom of Championship 2 and only one point separates them from the foot of the table.

Killymoon Rangers opened the scoring in the 15th minute, captain Stephen Purvis heading in Johnny Young’s corner.

Banbridge equalized on 32 minutes, Johnny Porter heading in a corner to leave the score 1-1 going into the break.

On 46 minutes Banbridge were awarded a penalty for a foul by John Scott but Gareth McElhatton saved Stuart Thompson’s penalty.

Darragh McGrath had a header come back off the bar before Banbridge took the lead in the 70th minute, Connor Downey heading in a right wing cross.

Killymoon equalized two minutes later, Roma getting on the end of a Barrie Kelly long throw.

The hosts then went ahead for the second time in the match on 77 minutes, Barrie Kelly’s throw was headed back across goal and Johnny Young tapped in the winner.

Simon Robb was sent off for Banbridge in the 92nd minute, for a foul and being the last defender.

Next week PSNI come to Crystal Park (2pm) and with the Town languishing so close to the bottom of the league a win is of vital importance. Kick-off is at 3pm.
