King expects Larne to show their Steel

Larne claimed only their second league win of the season with a 3-0 victory over struggling Dundela at Inver Park on Saturday. Now their attention switches to this weekend’s encounter with their former tenants.

“It is a game we are expecting to win,” King (inset, left) told the Times. “We will be giving them respect but we have enough quality to make sure our name is in the hat for the next round.”

Reflecting on the weekend win over the Duns, the former Linfield man commented: “Dundela have always been a difficult side and keeping a clean sheet is a bonus. We were comfortable and never looked in danger at any time. The manager told us to push on at half-time, keep doing what we had been doing and it certainly worked.”

He agreed the second goal settled the home side. “We were a bit nervous to be honest as it was such a big game for us after our two league defeats but the two boys we have up front are real quality and it really showed after the break.

“(Ciaran) Murray’s strike was quality and he has so much skill. He is still young and the senior players are just trying to keep an eye on him, but if he keeps scoring goals that is the important thing.”
