Larne crash out of Intermediate Cup
LARNE’S dream of reaching the WKD Core Intermediate Cup final came to an end on Tuesday night as they crashed to a 3-1 defeat to Harland and Wolff Welders at Seaview.
After a blank first 45 minutes it was the Belfast outfit who broke the deadlock in the semi-final clash when Stephen Munn netted early in the second-half.
Veteran Larne centre-forward Davy Larmour hit back with an equalising goal, only to see William Armstrong later restore Welders’ advantage.
With the Inver Reds pressing hard to find a way back into the game, Ryan Brown sealed Larne’s fate when he headed home in the dying minutes of the match.
