Kane signed for a second spell at Inver Park on Tuesday evening, having spent two seasons at neighbours Carrick Rangers.

“I was very grateful for the opportunity that Gary Haveron and Steven Mills gave me to take the step up and play for Carrick for the past two seasons,” he said.

“I enjoyed every minute of it and also was lucky to be involved in a very successful team and I’ve memories I will never forget.”

Kane, who made his senior debut for for the Inver Reds 12 years ago as a teenager, added: “The opportunity to sign for Larne came along and I am really looking forward to the new season ahead.”

Larne boss Davy McAlinden has also swooped for Ryan Arthur, a towering centre-back with tremendous ability in the air.

Arthur has won the Championship 1 title with Carrick Rangers in 2015, and again with Ards last season.

“Delighted to finally get next season sorted,” Arthur wrote on Facebook. “I can’t wait to get started and hopefully help get the club back to the Premiership.”

And there have been changes among McAlinden’s backroom team. Coach Ciaran Stitt has left the club and he has been replaced by Niall Curneen.
