Larne set for Comrades friendly

New Larne boss Tommy Kincaid will get another chance to cast his eye over his squad tonight as they take on Ballyclare Comrades in a friendly (7.45pm).

The Inver Reds make the trip to Dixon Park just weeks after Kincaid signed three of Ballyclare’s leading players - Andy Simms, William Wharry and Scott Irvine.

“William and Andy will be making a quick return to Ballyclare but Scott won’t be playing because he’s still recovering from a recent hernia operation,” said Kincaid.

“The Comrades, obviously, can’t be too annoyed at the mini-exodus to Larne when they are playing this game against us,” he quipped.

He added that tonight’s match should prove to be a great exercise for both clubs, given the derby element and the fact that they don’t meet as often nowadays as they once used to do.

Eddie Hill’s Comrades go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Glentoran on Tuesday evening, with former Nortel striker Kyle Agnew getting his name on the scoresheet.
