THERE were a couple of shocks in last weeks Matt Morrison Junior Cup, the in form Roe Rovers lost at Tobermore United Reserves while Drummond United defeated previous winners Liverpool Supporters Club after extra-time.

BBOB bowed out losing to Coleraine side The Heights, Tullyally Colts had an impressive home win over Caw while Irish Street defeated Churchill in the Waterside derby. Greysteel were the highest scorers of the day putting seven past Burnfoot, in the all First Division clash Ardmore proved to strong for Eglinton.

This week sees the quarter finals of the City Cup while there are games in all three divisions of the league.

City Cup

Roe Rovers v Drummond United

A couple of weeks ago and Rovers would have been hot favourites to win this one, but their defeat in the Junior Cup may have taken the wind out of their sails, however they will be determined to bounce back.

Chris Moore has seen his Drummond side showing much improved form recently and they will go into this game with confidence after their Junior Cup win last Saturday, this may take extra time with Rovers a tentative selection.

Prediction: Roe Rovers.

Ardmore v Caw

These sides sit first and second in the First Division table and both are desperate for promotion. Damien McGee has his Ardmore side playing superbly and they certainly would not be out of place in the Premier Division.

Caw suffered a set back at Tullyally last week where they played poorly, they will need to show a big improvement if they are to make the semi finals.

Prediction: Ardmore.

Ballykelly v Eglinton

Yet another all First Division clash, there is a keen rivalry between these two and although promotion is their main aim they will be going all out for a semi-final place.

The home side play attacking football and have been scoring plenty of goals while their opponents were disappointing in last weeks defeat by Ardmore, home advantage may sway it.

Prediction: Ballykelly.

City Colts v Maghera Strollers

It was the same old story about Maghera last week again as their game was called off, their players must be really frustrated at the number of games they have had postponed. City Colts have shown improved form in recent games and this would be a big scalp if they were to win.

Prediction: City Colts.

Premier Division

BBOB v Greysteel

The Old Boys showed a little bit of an improvement last week before going out of the Junior Cup by the odd goal of three, however they are still precariously placed in the league table.

Greysteel scored seven last Saturday and are in a comfortable mid table position, however they can be inconsistent and a draw looks the probable outcome.

Prediction: Score Draw.
