Late comrade

GLENAVON’S stewards joined players of both sides on the pitch before the Blues took on Coleraine at Mourneview Park on Saturday for a minute’s silence for their late comrade Colin Thompson.

Thompson, who was 65, sadly passed away in hospital last Tuesday and the game against Coleraine was the first home match in which the Glenavon stewards were without their long-time friend.

“Colin Thompson has been here since the stewards were founded,” chief steward Raymie Flanagan said after the game.

“He’s a person that everybody could depend on. Nobody had to tell him what to do. It didn’t matter what had to be done, he was first on the scene.
