Late goal a blow for Lurgan BBOB Youth

Lurgan BBOB Youth hosted Dromore Youth, eager to stay in the title hunt by extending their winning run to five games finished frustrated as mistakes proved costly in conceding four goals to lose the match, while the visitors stole the win right on the final whistle.

BBOB started brightly and soon took a deserved early lead. However, a mistake in giving the ball away softly in midfield led to Dromore equalising. While BBOB were not at their fluent best they had the better of the play for the remainder of the half but they could only share one goal apiece with their opponents as the hosts let in another soft goal leaving it 2-2 at half-time.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first as BBOB once more dominated play, if still not at their brightest. Frustratingly BBOB were then again only able to share a goal apiece with Dromore, while the home goalkeeper will have been disappointed to concede a soft second half goal.

An even worse cruel blow was to come to BBOB on the final whistle as a home defender struggled to deal with a corner kick that allowed Dromore to snatch victory by 4-3. BBOB will be disappointed with the result and in conceding such costly soft goals. Although it was encouraging for BBOB to see Kris Walker again on the score sheet and leading scorer Iain Irwin also continue his scoring form with a fine brace of goals.
