After a day of negotiations between the two clubs a deal was finally struck on Monday evening.

“We didn’t want to lose Davy, nor did we have to sell, but when a player asks to leave you have to look at the situation, “ said Oran Kearney.

“It’s not ideal timing but we have worked hard to get the best possible deal for Coleraine FC.”

Kearney says his attention will now turn to bolstering his squad following McDaid’s departure.

“We are exploring several avenues at present and I am hopeful of bringing on a couple of new additions,”he said.

“We have several targets, which we will be looking at over the next few days.”
