Launch of Tyrone Milk Cup training sessions at Mid-Ulster Sports Arena

Preparations for the 2013 Northern Ireland Milk Cup are well under way and the Tyrone Milk Cup Committee are pleased to announce their new training venue at the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown.

The Tyrone Milk Cup Association prides itself each year in organizing the experience of a lifetime for young Soccer players from throughout the county, to compete against the cream of the crop from all over the world, including Academy sides from the calibre of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea, to name but a few.

For this year’s preparation the Tyrone Milk Cup Committee have linked up with Cookstown District Council and the Mid Ulster Sports Arena for the trial process for both junior and senior squads. The trials are the crux of the preparations and in previous years have been held throughout Tyrone, however a combination of financial restrictions and also a belief that the two squad managers should have a headquarters to work from, along with Cookstown Council’s willingness to come on board and the availability of a first class training venue, were a big factor in deciding to base all preparations at MUSA.

Cookstown Council Chairman Councillor Tony Quinn is delighted that MUSA has been chosen as the venue for the Tyrone Milk Cup squad preparations and said it is a further recognition of the excellent facilities available at the Sports Arena.

Tyrone Milk Cup Chairman Marty Gamble is delighted with this link and commented, “Each year we find it more and more difficult to make ends meet and facilitate the logistics of funding two squads and team officials for the tournament, but joining with MUSA and Cookstown Council will go a long way to elevate some of this cost, and also give the management and coaches an excellent facility to run their trials from, along with a comfortable environment for parents to relax with a tea or coffee whilst their kids take part.”

The Mid Ulster Sports Arena is top of the league when it comes to sports facilities and those trying out for the Tyrone Milk Cup squads will have the very best opportunity to progress and be a part of the best youth soccer tournament in Europe, if not the World. This is a great chance for young players to see what they can achieve.
