Leaders Drummond close in on Premiership title

The days highest scorers were Ardmore who defeated Artigarvan 7-1 with Cormac Carlin scoring a hat-trick, McGowan, McGee and McLaughlin were also on target.

BBOB proved to strong for First Division side Glendermott winning 6-1 two goals each from Joe McCready and Grant Garden and one each for O’Keefe and Michael McCready.

Tullyally Colts booked their place in the quarter-final with a 4-2 win at Eglinton McFaul, Lyttle, Cooke and Robinson all on the score sheet.

Lisahally had an excellent 4-2 win at Kilrea with Petie Doherty again on the mark with two and one each from Devine and Canning.

In the only Premier Division game Foyle Wanderers after their 3-2 win over Irish Street have moved to within a point of leaders Drummond. Their scorers at the weekend were Dougherty, Godfrey and McDonnell with Olphert and Wilson replying for Mark McKittrick’s side.

This Saturday there is one outstanding Junior Cup tie where Eglinton host Greysteel and the final of the Supplementary Cup between Ardmore Reserves and Newbuildings United III takes place on Saturday at Wilton Park (KO 1pm).

There are three games also in the Premier Division.

Tullyally v Drummond United

Stephen Orderley’s Tullyally side sit in mid-table however they will want to move up the table and hopefully get into the top four, they have already reached the last eight in the junior cup so there is still plenty to play for.

Drummond are joint top with just four games remaining but manager Geoff Ferris knows that this is the defining time of the season and his players should be raring to go after not having a game last week.

Prediction: Score draw

Claudy Rovers v Irish Street

Rovers know that if they win their two games in hand then they will join Drummond at the top, they to were without a game last week so they will be up for this one as they scent silverware.

Irish Street to their credit keep battling and although relegation is inevitable they will want to finish their campaign with a decent performance, however this looks like another defeat.

Lincoln Courts v BBOB

In previous seasons this would have seen these two up at the top of the table however this has been a disappointing campaign for both of them. The Courts sit third from bottom and will hope for a big improvement next season.

The Old Boys have still plenty to play for with cup ties coming up so manager Don Olpert will be making sure his players keep performing.
