League cup: Andy McGrory hits two as Glenavon see off Cliftonville after extra-time
It was end to end stuff from both side’s but Glenavon just about deserved to be in the draw for the semi-finals on the competition.
The Lurgan Blues goals came from McGrory - who got two - and Greg Moorhouse, while the Reds strikes came from David McDaid and Stephen Garrett.

Hide AdGlenavon had taken then had the first chance of the match in the sixth minute but Mark Sykes shot wide after an awful clearance kick from Peter Burke.
A minute before the break Marshall had a great chance to open Glenavon’s account but his header from a corner flashed wide of the Reds goal.
Glenavon took the lead in the 56th minute through Moorhouse as the striker rifled home from the edge of the box.
It was 1-1 in the 68th minute as McDaid’s shot from a Ruairi Harkin pass was deflected past Taylor in the Glenavon goals.

Hide AdBoth sides pushed for the winner and both had chances and Marshall was denied right at the death by Burke and the game went to extra-time.
The Lurgan Blues regained the lead in the 96th minute as McGrory got on the scoresheet with a crisp finish.
It was 3-1 in the 102 minute as McCrory scored from the penalty spot after Declan O’Brien was fouled. And then Garrett got the Reds second.
