League officials turn to management ahead of the new football season

Two South Antrim League officials have decided to give management a go in the League during the coming season.

Clifford Hanna is the League chairman and Mark Fenton, the secretary in ‘real life’ so to speak, but both have decided it is time to enter the field of team management as well.

Invitation

Clifford has also refereed over the years, but he has accepted an invitation to manage Division One team, South Antrim, during the coming season.

Over the past couple of seasons South have been the ‘nearly men’ in this division, just failing to gain promotion, but Hanna will hope he can change this around.

Lambeg Rangers won the Ironside Cup in 2011, but last season they struggled, mostly due to players’ work commitments, but Mark Fenton comes in as manager and will hope to change all this.

There are already changes at Rangers with the resurrection of the second eleven, who are looking for a new manager, but the aim of the club will be to do that bit better under Fenton’s guidance.
