Learning curve for me says Kris

“I work for the Irish Football Association as a primary schools’ coach which is great but the Milk Cup is a wonderful opportunity to pick up some tips from people like Pat McGibbon and Chris Wright,” said Kris.

“I played for County Down at junior and premier levels then with Northern Ireland in the Elite section so appreciate the Milk Cup offers players a great opportunity.

“Technically we have a good squad this year with County Armagh and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can.

“I enjoy coaching and can hopefully bring something to the group based on my past experiences.”

“Pre-season is a busy time but I wanted to commit to the Milk Cup this year as the plan is to turn to youth coaching after I stop playing.

“I am 30 years old now and don’t know how many years I have left as a player.

“I am coming off the back of a brilliant season with Glenavon and I think we shocked a few people, so now it is about pushing on.

“We have a good squad and, on a personal note, I am feeling fit and delighted to have the captain’s armband for another season.

“I had a few niggly injuries at the start of last season but probably played more games overall than at any other time in my career.”
