Leeds United to take part in Craigavon Cup

Leeds United will be taking part in the Jimmy Jones Memorial Craigavon Cup.

News the Championship side were sending a over a team were revealed this week.

Taking place on Saturday 9th May, the competition will see thousands of young footballers, parents, coaches and supporters descending upon the Borough for an exciting day of football.

With Leeds United on board it is a massive boost for the competition.

Organised through ‘Playing for the Future’ – a football academy that brings communities together through sport – and sponsored by Sainsbury’s, Italian sportswear brand Legea and Northern Ireland company Novosco, the Craigavon Cup will see players coming from all over Ireland to participate.

The tournament will see children aged from under-nine to under-12 competing throughout the day at Gordon Playing Fields with the grand final being held in Mourneview Park.
