Tobermore themselves have thoughts of getting promoted this season.

They are currently in third, two places below Limavady, although they do have a game in hand over PSNI in second.

From their eleven league games so far this season they have won eight games whilst losing the other three.

In those games they have scored twenty goals but have only conceded nine times, the lowest in the league.

Tobermore lost their last league game away at Newforge, as PSNI won 2-0 on the day.

The clubs actually met three times last season, twice in the league but also in the Irish Cup as well. Tobermore won the cup game after extra-time with only Andy Ferris finding the net on that occasion.

United however won home and away in the league; Ferris and Blain Morrison both scored in the home win, with Bryan McClelland, Paul Owens and Cathair Friel all finding the target.

Limavady United manager Paul Owens knows just what this game means to his side this weekend.

“This game is massive for us, make no mistake about it because a win leaves us in a good position,” he said.

“We are in the position we want to be now which of course brings its own pressures as well.

“I’ve said from the start that we have always been playing catch up but now we are in the place we want to be so it’s up to us to stay there.”

With his team on an excellent run of form, Owens is understandably feeling good about the game ahead.

“We have been in very good form recently and of course with that then I’m confident going into the game.

“We just have to make sure that we continue to play the way we have been playing over the last few weeks. The most important thing is just looking after our own jobs, if we do that then I’m sure we can get a good result,” he ended.

Going into the game there are fitness doubts over Conor O’Hara, Bryan McClelland and Andy Devlin. However there is some good news as Ryan Mullan has returned to the club although won’t be available to January.
