Lisburn teams dominate title in junior divisions

Lisburn Youth U12, Hillsborough Boys U13, Lisburn Youth U14, Lisburn Distillery U16 and U17 were the quintet of victorious sides.

Oxford Sunnyside Boys were the odd team out when they won the U15 League.

Lisburn Youth U15 and Hillsborough Boys U17 finished runners-up in their groups, which meant seven local teams won a top two trophy from the 12 available.

The Cup finals line-up for tomorrow (Saturday) at Ballymacoss Playing Fields, starting at 9.30am is:

9.30am: U12: Lisburn Youth v Windmill Youth; under-13, Hillsborough Boys v Shankill Juniors; under-14: Annagh Youth v Lisburn Youth.

11.15am: U15, Lisburn Distillery Youth v Ridgeway; under-16, Carrick Rangers v Bloomfield Youth.

Best wishes to Matthew

Matthew Bell received a serious leg injury while playing for Hillsborough Boys in the U15 Lisburn League game against Lurgan Town Juniors.

The match was abandoned and Matthew was rushed to hospital where it was discovered he had a serious double fracture of his leg.

Chairman, Stanley Sheppard and all the League committee join with the two teams involved and all the footballing fraternity in wishing Matthew a full recovery.
