Jordan Kennedy opened the scoring in the first half of their game against North Belfast but their opponents soon found their feet and Youth found themselves 2-1 at the break. They werefinding things difficult against a very physical long ball side.

A few stern words at half time soon solved that issue and goals from Regan McCanny and the winner from Davy English got Lisburn a 3-2 victory and three hard-earned points.

Lisburn Youth U15s continued their 100% record in the Lisburn League this season with a well earned victory against Newry.

Lisburn were two up at half time playing, what coach Chris O’Kane described as, their best football so far this season. The goals came from Ross Hull and Lorcan McIlroy. Another two goals in the second half from Ub Ottong and Hull combined with a well-deserved clean sheet for keeper Ryan Dowling to deliver a convincing final score of 4-0 to the young lions of Lisburn.

U14s

Lisburn Youth Under 14′s entertained Portadown on Saturday knowing a big improvement was needed from the previous week. Right from kick-off, Lisburn got the ball down and began to play some lovely one and two touch football.

They were dealt a harsh blow just before half time when Portadown were awarded a penalty, which their centre midfielder tucked away.

Lisburn came out in the second half even stronger, playing a great range of long and short passing. You could sense that a goal was coming and from a corner Taylor Tynan rose highest to powerfully head the ball into the back of the net.

Then two minutes later, after some free flowing football, Tomas Skillen finished brilliantly when one on one with keeper. Lisburn continued to keep the ball and limited Portadown to any chances infront of goal, to see the game out.

Overall, it was a great performance from Lisburn who on their day are a real match for anyone.

Lisburn Youth Under 12s took on a strong physical Castle side Saturday morning at the Rec.

Castle started off the stronger team in the first 10 minutes but any questions that were asked of the Lisburn defence were calmly dealt with.

Lisburn took the lead shortly after the early spell of castle pressure when they had a corner cleared only to have the ball sent back into the box by Callum Burns for Travis MacFarlane to latch onto the ball, knocking it past the Keeper into the roof of the net.

Castle were back on level terms soon after through a long goal kick over the Lisburn back line ran into the path of the Castle forward to slot home. Castle then took the lead from a direct free kick just before half time.

The second half started brightly for Youth pressing forward but the pressure was dealt with well by the Castle defence. Each team pressed forward looking for the next goal which eventually went to Castle, minutes before the end when another goal-kick was lofted over the Lisburn defence and sat up nicely for the Castle forward to finish well into the bottom corner.

Overall, it was an unlucky performance for the Lisburn side who tasted defeat for the first time this season.
