As well as the hugely-popular new sky blue and white-striped kit, United’s players and officials will also turn on the style in their attire before and after the game - the traditional cup final suits!

The Sky Blues will look resplendent in their new blue suits, which have been supplied by the local Remus Uomo outlet in the Fairhill Centre.

“It’s a big order, probably somewhere between 40 to 50 suits in total, but we were just glad to be supporting Ballymena United - that’s the main thing,” explains Melvin Blaney, from the store.

“It’s a very popular suit at this time, it’s more of a blue than a navy when you see it in daylight.

“It’s got a narrow lapel and it’s very much towards the fashion direction.

“Once we got everyone in and measured up it was grand. The players were easier to do than the backroom staff - there were less 30” waists with the backroom staff!

“We’re delighted to be part of the whole cup final build-up and we’ll be even more delighted when Ballymena win it,” added Melvin.

United boss Glenn ferguson said: “The guys at the Remus shop guaranteed that they could do exactly what we wanted and they certainly didn’t let us down.

“Sam Morrison, Melvin and his staff showed great professionalism in the way they conducted their business and for that I would like to offer my sincere gratitude and thanks for everything they have done for us.

“I just hope now we can play as well as we will look!” added Glenn.
