Look to the future, urges Hilditch

Any Carrick Rangers supporter who is concerned or annoyed about the delay in the provision of the new state-of-the-art 3g pitch at Taylor’s Avenue should be patient and channel their energy into looking ahead to where the club will be in less than six months time, club chairman David Hilditch advised this week.

“It seems to me that some people are trying to make a bad news story out of what is really something that has nothing but positives for the club, the town and the whole community. These are really exciting times for Carrick Rangers Football Club, on and off the pitch,” explained Hilditch who is also a local MLA.

“Okay, at a casual glance, there seems to be nothing much happening. But, as I’ve said before, there is a lot of work going on – it’s just that it’s not actually happening on the pitch, but on the laptops.

“Unfortunately, these things do tend to take time. But nowhere in the Carrickfergus Borough Council area is there a facility such as we will be providing and that will generate a significant source of income when it is up and running later in the year.”
