“I hope to be back running again in six weeks’ time, it will probably take another 2-3 weeks after that to get back into contention. I’m aiming for the start of February.

“I want to thank Coleraine for sorting me out so quickly since my MRI scan. Hopefully, I can repay them with my performances when I’m back to fitness.

“I woke up on the Sunday after the first Ards game and my knee was very painful. I knew deep down I had damaged it but played through the pain barrier for a month or so by eating anti-inflammatories! The Ballymena match in particular was a struggle.

“This is my first injury in five or six years so I’m not used to sitting on the sidelines at all I just want to get back out there and help the team.

“Obviously with a few defeats the boys are not as bubbly as they usually are but that is to be expected. We all know we are the only ones who can get ourselves up the table again.

“We just need to get back doing the things we did in the last few seasons and I’m sure the results will follow. I think we can move ourselves into touching distance of the top six before Christmas and push on after to secure that spot.”
