Lowry: 'Working under Ronnie McFall is something I've always wanted to do'

Philip Lowry - a long-term Portadown transfer target - is hoping to enjoy a successful short-term impact following last weekend's first appearance in club colours.

Lowry finished on the losing side during his debut against Crusaders but is confident he can help the Ports after signing until the end of the season.

“The game was not what we hoped but everyone made me feel welcome,” said Lowry in his post-match interview with PORTS TV. “I have had conversations with Ronnie McFall three or four times over the past few years and it is great to be at such a huge club.

“I’ve always wanted to work under Ronnie and his record speaks for itself, plus I know a lot of the players.

“We are all looking to kick on now.

“I think I still have a lot to offer so will put 100 per cent into every game and hopefully make an impact.”

Lowry is based in England and will continue to train with Wingate & Finchley, a side managed by Portadown-born Keith Rowland.
