Kilrea United who remain unbeaten this term and are well on the way to retaining that title.

The opposition remain a fine attacking team, indeed they are the league’s top goal scorers with a good backline, and at home will take a bit of pegging back.

Clearly one of the province’s leading lights at junior level, the Blues are going to have to be at the very best to have any real chance here.

In their last outing the Blues comprehensively saw off Maghera United with a ten goal salvo; this is going to be a completely different kettle of fish for them and they are going to have to bring all their youthful exuberance and experience in the team to the fore.

With both teams playing such an attacking game, this could well produce a glut of goals in an attacking game and although a home win is the expected outcome, it would be a foolish man to rule this Blues team out completely.

Magherafelt Sky Blues U13 finished their league campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory in Coleraine.

The Blues were sloppy early on and struggled to get their free flowing football going. The young blues knew that only a win would do if they had any chance of winning the league.

Luke Diamond settled the Blues down with a fine finish late in the first half. Cormac Mullan then scored from 25 yards with an audacious chip.

In the second half Matthew Walsh returned from his injury to the delight of his team mates and management.

Cathal Chambers made it three before missing a penalty after an excellent run before Darragh Wade finish from an impossible angle to make it four.

Captain Jamie Logan was taken off with a shoulder injury which thankfully turned out to be not serious and Callum Campbell suffered a blow to the head early on although did manage to carry on.

The Blues must wait on other teams finishing their fixtures to see if they will be crowned league champions.

Man of the Match was close between the Diamond brothers although it went to Charlie Diamond in the end who controlled the defence throughout before doing goals for the last 10 minutes.

Magherafelt Sky Blues U9 Colts put up a valiant performance in Coleraine against a strong Dungiven Celtic side who won 3-1.

They took the lead early on when Ben Finlay picked the ball up in midfield and ran through the heart of the Dungiven defence to calmly slot home from close range.

Dungiven came back strong however and equalised soon after. Turlough Cartin covered every blade of grass on the pitch trying to link play with Adam Getty and Riley Nicholas who were unfortunately left isolated up front at times.

Dungiven then took a 2-1 lead as half time approached.

The second half saw the blues put the pressure back on Dungiven with man of the match Jack Lennox and Lewis Gibson denying Dungiven many chances in the final third.

C.J Surgenor and Luke Higgins done well on the wings but just when it looked like the Blues were going to get an equaliser they got caught on the break with a sucker punch goal to make it 3-1 to Dungiven not long before the final whistle.

Nonetheless this was a fantastic team performance by the U9 Colts.

Magherafelt Sky Blues U8 Colts found themselves up against a well organised Bertie Peacocks side and battled hard in a game that could of went either way.

The Blues spurned a couple of good chances of their own but in creating the chances they were leaving themselves short of defensive cover and Bertie’s made no mistake in front goal.
