Matthew leads out Millwall

LOCAL boy Matthew Moore proudly led out Millwall FC for their recent pre-season friendly with Glenavon.

Matthew, 8, a pupil at Seymour Hill Primary School, joined former Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Maik Taylor to lead the English Championship side out at Mourneview Park.

The football fan, who also plays for the ‘Wee Whites’, turning out for Lisburn Distillery Academy’s Under 9’s, was keen to be a Millwall mascot as his grandfather Robert is a life-long Millwall supporter.

Matthew took part in a pre-match warm up with the Millwall players, running and stretching like a pro, before he led the team onto the pitch with captain Maik Taylor.

At half-time the local lad took part in a match for Glenavon Boys against Ballynahinch. He also spent time with Millwall manager Kenny Jacket.

Overall, Matthew had a great day out. Many thanks go to Millwall FC and Glenavon FC.
