McLaughlin happy after Shels victory

DERRY City winger Stephen McLaughlin, spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin, following their 2-0 win at Shelbourne, on Friday night.

The Donegal man fired home City’s second goal after David McDaid had scored his tenth goal of the season in the first half.

Unfortunately the duo miss tonight’s (Monday) trip to St Patrick’s Athletic, also out this evening is Mark Farren, Dermot McCaffrey, Kevin Deery and Rory Patterson, while Marc Brolly, who had his first start at Tolka Park on Friday evening, is also struggling.

On the plus side experienced centre-back Stewart Greacen returns to the squad following suspension.

Meanwhile the club have confirmed that ex-midfielder Marty McCann has been installed as first team coach. McCann, who worked with assistant manager Paul Hegarty at Finn Harps, took training on Sunday morning.
