McShane happy to be at Inver

Defender Pat McShane says it was a ‘no-brainer’ to join Championship 1 club Larne.

The former Linfield full-back moved to Inver Park from Donegal Celtic earlier this month and sees no reason why he and the rest of his new team-mates can’t be confident about the current campaign.

“I am really enjoying it so far,” he said. “I played in Michael Gault’s testimonial and then I wasn’t sure what I would do as there was some uncertainty at Donegal Celtic.

“Graham (McConnell) rang me and, to be honest, it was a no-brainer to join Larne and I am still fit so I am up for the challenge.”

On the season ahead, the vastly experienced McShane added: “With the squad we have we should be going into games with a lot of confidence. There is a great team spirit in the dressing room and a good management team, so it is all looking very positive.”

Larne will be hoping to bounce back from Tuesday evening’s 1-0 defeat to The Welders when they host Bangor this afternoon (3pm).
