Millwall hand new deal to Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson

EGLINTON native, Shane Ferguson has extended his contract with Championship outfit, Millwall.

Shane Ferguson has extended his contract at Millwall.

The length of the 27 year-old Northern Ireland international's contract was not yet disclosed by the club while Ferguson's teammate, Aiden O'Brien has agreed to stay until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Former Maiden City Academy graduate, Ferguson first arrived at The Den in August 2015 on an initial loan spell from Newcastle United, before signing permanently with Neil Harris' side in January 2016.

He struck the crossbar with a curling free-kick as Millwall were held to a goalless draw against relegation threatened Barnsley at the weekend.

Millwall are currently 11th in the Championship table, five points outside the top six and still harbour promotion playoff aspirations.
