Mixed results for Ballymoney United Youth Academy teams

There were mixed results for Ballymoney United Youth Academy teams.

The Under-12s lost 11-2 against Linfield with the goals coming from O’Neill and Doherty but the Under-13s had a 9-0 win.

The Linfield scoreline will suggest this was a walk over, but for forty minutes Ballymoney battled and played some great passing football. They were 3-1 down at half time ,the third just before half time, was really poor defending from Ballymoney, from a throw in the player was allowed to weave past three players without a tackle being made, and having the time to stab the ball home.Ballymoney’s goal came when Conall Dohertyplayed a part, but it was Chad O’Neill who lashed the ball home.

Ballymoney started this game at a blistering pace and were 2-0 up after 10 mins through goals from Jakob Fleck.  Aiden Gillan then smashed in a superb free-kick to make it three.  Ballymoney never let their pace drop and ran away with the game scoring another 6 goals through Fleck to complete his hat-trick, Ryan Brolly 2, Brooklyn White, William Dale and Callum Munnis.  This was a great performance from the boys and a big confidence boost ahead of next weeks top of the table clash with leaders Causeway Colts.
