MCA U11...0
Coleraine Olympic...2
Maiden City Academy U11’s returned to league action at Ballysally on Saturday and suffered a 2-0 defeat to Coleraine Olympic. The game started with both teams playing some excellent controlled football.
The first goal of the game came after 15 minutes when Josh McLaughlin in the city goal made a great save from a free kick and the ball fell to the Coleraine striker who then saw his shot blocked brilliantly on the line by Tiernan Feeny. Only for the rebound to come back to him and this time he finished well.

City really upped their game now and some of their passing and movement was of a really high standard but they just couldn’t put the ball in the Coleraine net.
The second half started as the first ended, with City well on top but Coleraine got a lucky 2nd goal when yet again another shot was well saved by Josh McLaughlin only for the striker to react first and put Coleraine 2-0 up. City continued to pile on the pressure but the Coleraine keeper was having an excellent game and he kept City at bay.
The 2-0 final scoreline was very harsh on MCA, and all who watched the game will be wondering how City failed to get anything from this game as this was one of their best performances of the league campaign so far.
All the players deserve great credit for their play, effort and attitude towards the whole game.
