Moneyslane search for new manager

Moneyslane FC and manager Neil McCullough have parted ways.

McCullough was recently sent from the touchline in two successive weeks, incurring a four match ban and bringing a fine on the club.

The club’s committee are now working towards appointing his successor before the New Year.

Former Annagh United boss and Loughgall coach David Johnstone has taken over caretaker charge but his brother and Moneyslane committee member Ian Johnstone says David is not in contention for the job.

He said: “David can’t take it because of work commitments. It’s unfortunate because he ticks all the boxes. He has a UEFA A license and could attract a good calibre of player.”

Johnstone says the club have yet to decide on a new boss:

“It’s hard to know whether to go for a big name or to consolidate our position. We want to keep the players that we have.”

Moneyslane are currently playing in Mid-Ulster Intermediate B division but have big aspirations.

“We want to be in the Championship in five years time. There’s no reason why not,” said Johnstone.
