The UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship season kicked off on Monday with top teams progressing to elite rounds, on the road to the finals in Belarus and Jordan.

The 11 four-team mini tournaments are held as one-venue events, the first of which got under way in FYR Macedonia earlier this week. The top two in each qualifying round group join Germany and France in the elite round.

Morganne flew to Macedonia with the Northern Ireland squad on Saturday and returns on October 4.

The first of Northern Ireland’s three matches was against Macedonia on Monday, before taking on Bosnia Herzegovina on Wednesday (Sept 30).

The third test against Italy, their toughest opponents, is scheduled for Saturday, October 3.
