Mulholland nets impressive hat-trick to sink Windmill

Nicholas Mullholland netted a hat-trick as Carrick Colts U13s continued their campaign in the NIBFA Subway National Youth League on Saturday with a 5-1 home win over Cookstown.

Mulholland netted the opener and soon after Gavin Anderson slotted home from a corner to make it 2-0.

Cookstown rattled the bar and later found the net to make it 2-1 at half-time.

The second half belonged to the Colts and a sublime finish from restored their two-goal advantage.

His hat-trick, Carrick’s fourth, arrived from another well-taken corner.

Owen Barrons’ long-range free-kick tested the keeper but fell for new signing Sam Gillen who made no mistake when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.

A decent start for the Colts with 6 points from 3 games. In this form Carrick will be looking forward to their next fixture away to Bangor FC.
