SATURDAY was a good day for North West clubs in the Irish Junior Cup; Newtowne won a nine goal thriller by the odd goal against Dergview Reserves, Sion had an excellent home win over the fancied Enniskillen Rangers while Roe Rovers continued their impressive form with a win at Ardstraw Reserves.

The only losers were Greysteel who went down at Gilford Crusaders.

In the Premier Division, Maghera Strollers and BBOB shared eight goals and the points. Donemana were impressive in their win at Draperstown Reserves in the First Division, Tullyally hit five against Park while Dungiven Reserves defeated neighbours Claudy Rovers.

Ardmore won the big game in Division Two defeating Ballykelly, Churchill having won their previous two went down to Glendermott, Burnfoot scored four without reply against Foyle Wanderers Reserves while Douglas Bridge and Irish Street finished all square.

Foyle Wanderers v Lincoln Courts

The Courts will just be glad to get a game after not playing for a number of weeks, they were in good form before their enforced break and they will want that to continue.

Wanderers have struggled so far losing their last two games; however they had started the season well but may lose this one.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Burndennett v BBOB

In their last outing the home side suffered a heavy defeat at Newtowne but up to then they had been getting some good results; however will that defeat have affected their confidence?

The Old Boys had to settle for a share of the spoils at Maghera last week where they conceded four goals: they will have to tighten things up at the back.

Prediction: Score Draw.

Roe Rovers v Greysteel

Rovers have been a revelation so far this season, they are currently top of the league and progressed in the Irish Junior Cup last Saturday, they deserve great credit and now fear no one.

The visitors bowed out of the Junior Cup but they have yet to lose in the league albeit they have just played the two games. The home side's good form should continue.

Prediction: Roe Rovers.

Newtowne v Sion

Both these sides scored five in last week's victories. The home side after their opening day defeat have shown their true form since scoring 15 goals in their last three outings.

Sion's league form has been patchy and they have lost all four games so far; however when they can field their full side they can produce the goods as they showed in last Saturday's win over Enniskillen Rangers.

Prediction: Newtowne.

Maghera Strollers v Drummond

Two sides who have struggled so far this season neither of them have won a match although the Strollers have drawn twice, with both sides out of form a draw looks the likely outcome.

Prediction: Score Draw.
