The visitors found themselves trailing 4-1 when the half time whistle sounded and the hosts scored a further three times without reply in the second half.

Rangers created an early scoring opportunity when a pinpoint pass from Kyle Jennett found Stephen Hendron, whose well struck shot crashed against the post.

Ballyoran broke the deadlock but strong and determined play from William Morrison almost yielded an equaliser.

He picked up possession when the ball was cleared from a Scarva corner and only a last ditch tackle diverted his shot wide.

The Portadown side scored twice more before Adam Maginnis reduced the arrears to 3-1.

The talented young forward closed the keeper down and while his first shot was saved, the second effort was slotted clinically into the net.

Ballyoran restored their three goal cushion before the interval and dominated the second half to ensure an emphatic victory.

Late in the second half Adam Maginnis won a corner for his side after a purposeful run down the right wing and the subsequent corner was headed against the woodwork and out of play by a Ballyoran player.

Best for Scarva Rangers – Adam Maginnis.
