New season finally here for Carniny Youth sides

THE new season has arrived for some of the Carniny Youth teams this week when they kick off in their respective NIBFA National League Groups.

The Under 14s are the first in action tonight (Tuesday) when they have an away game with Magherafelt Sky Blues, with the Under 13s also away in their first game against Derry Colts the following evening.

The Under 15s will have to wait until Saturday for their start, also away to Derry side Trojans.

The under-16s continued their preparations for their campaign by beating Ballyclare Colts 6-1 in a friendly last week.

Jaworksi, Balmer and Shevin all scored two goals apiece for the ‘Reds’.

‘BACK TO SCHOOL SOCCER BLITZ’

The club also hosted another of their new initiatives last week when they staged a ‘Back to School Soccer Blitz’ aimed at children born in 2004/2005.

The children who signed up for the blitz enjoyed three days of football on the mini soccer pitches at Ballymena Showgrounds.

All the sessions were supervised by the club’s IFA qualified coaches this week. All the children received a participation certificate.
