No stopping Dwayne when it comes to Goal of Season

Mossley goalkeeper Dwayne Jenkins was the unlikely winner of the club’s Goal of the Season accolade at their recent awards night.

He has been accredited with a few assists over the years, but his Pat Jennings-style effort against Bryansburn Rangers in November scooped the big prize.

The amateur league Division 1C side finished the season on a high with five wins on the bounce, ending up in seventh spot - just four points away from a top-four finish.

It was a season in which the top two of Colin Valley and Donard Hospital were always going to take some stopping. Mossley effectively dented their credentials with costly defeats to Saintfield United and Dromore Amateurs.

However, if manager Garry Campbell can keep the side together, there should be no reason why they can’t push for promotion next term.
