Northend United Youth FC round-up: Blues’ youngest sides setting high standard

NORTHEND United Youth FC’s investment in its Football Development Centre has started to pay huge dividends with its youngest teams turning in some impressive performances whilst having a winning weekend in the North West and Coleraine District Youth League.

The Northend Babies U9s recording a good 1-0 win over Limavady United - a first clean sheet of the season for this young team.

The U10s displayed what a great team they are, following up last week’s resounding win over Institute by beating Dungiven by a similar 6-0 margin.

The U11s had a free weekend from League action but arranged a friendly match against Coaching for Christ, played at The Showgrounds on Friday night.

In the Elite National League, the U16s lost their match to the in-form Cookstown United at the Showgrounds on Saturday morning and the U14s lost their match against Carniny Youth, played at Smithfield.

In the Belfast and East Antrim League, the U12s had no match due to Transfer Test weekend and the U13s lost to League leaders St. Andrews at the Showgrounds.

The Club’s Football Development Centre continued on Friday night with well over 40 boys and girls in attendance.
