Northend United Youth FC round-up: Goals keep coming for U-10s

HAVING averaged six goals a game prior to this match, Northend’s U10s went into their first Derby match of the season against Carniny U10s full of confidence, in the North West and Coleraine and District Youth League.

They continued this rich vein of form when they turned in a team-like performance to record a resounding 9-0 win over their local neighbours.

Continuing on with the fine form being displayed from all John Devlin’s former Football Development Centre teams, the U9s recorded a 2-2 draw with Irish League Academy side Coleraine Olympic.

In the Belfast and East Antrim Youth League, the U12s had no scheduled League match but arranged a friendly match against Carniny U12s on Saturday afternoon. In what was another good performance for the current East Antrim League Leaders, the Blues also beat their neighbours in this Derby match by a convincing 5-0 scoreline.

In what was a great weekend for Northend’s younger teams, the U13s beat Newington by a 8-0 scoreline to put the disappointment of last week behind them.

It wasn’t such a good day in the National League with both senior teams, the U14s and the U16s both losing their matches against Glenavon and Sion Swifts respectively.
