Tournament organisers, Phil and Rodney are aiming to build upon the huge success from last year’s tournament when a number of Sporting Celebrities turned out to support the Northend cause.

Such is the interest in this year’s tournament, the organisers have almost all their available tee-times filled up already.

Meanwhikle, following on from last weekend’s complete wipe-out of fixtures, the Easter weekend saw only one Northend team in action, with the U16s travelling to Limavady United for a League Cup match. The result was unknown at the time of going to press.

Elsewhere, all the remaining Northend teams will get back to action next weekend with the resumption of the North West and Coleraine District Youth league and the Belfast and East Antrim Youth League.

All of the teams, with the exception of the U16s, will be in action over the Easter break at the Larne Soccer Sevens Tournament.

This will be this team’s third successive year in this competition, with the boys performing well on each occasion, and landing silverware in each of the preceding two years.

Manager Glenn Speirs stated: “This competition gives the boys a number of great pre-season games against some top quality competition. Scottish Premier League Academy side Aberdeen carry top billing in the age group, this year, and the boys will be hoping that Northend are paired with such a prestigious team.”

LARNE SOCCER SEVENS

Northend United Youth teams will be busy over the Easter break with no fewer than six teams having entered the Larne Youth Sevens Tournament on Tuesday 2nd April at Sandy bay in Larne.

Teams from U9 to U14 are looking forward to playing in the annual competition based on a seven-a-side format.
