Northend United Youth FC round-up: High fives for Blues sides

WHAT a weekend for the Northend Blues when on Saturday, five of their teams recorded wins with only one of their teams losing.

These scores further strengthen the standing Northend have within the various Leagues.

In Match of the Day the Club’s youngest team, the U9s, performed heroics, when they beat Irish league Club Coleraine’s U10 side by a 5-0 scoreline.

Glen Speirs’ U15s also had a great day winning 5-0 over Antrim Rovers to reach the Semi-Finals of the Belfast and East Antrim Knock-Out Cup.

Elsewhere in the Belfast and East Antrim League, the U12s turned in a below par performance before eventually losing to Antrim Colts at the Forum pitches.

Mark Herbison’s U13s fared much better when the defeated Loughside 3-1 before a big crowd of spectators at Smithfield.

The U11s and U14s matches were cancelled and the U16s returned to action after a four week lay-off. They showed no signs of rustiness and went on to beat Crewe United 3-2 in blustery conditions at Mallusk.
