Northend United Youth FC round-up: Pleasure ‘Crues’ for under-10s!

FOUR of the Northend teams, U9s, U11s, U12s and U15s, returned to Ballymena from their travels in Scotland and England, playing in some of the best youth Tournaments the UK has to offer.

An exciting time was had by all, with each of the teams flying the flag for Ballymena against some of the top-class opposition at each tournament.

Performance of the Week goes to Danny Mitchell’s U10s who went one step further than Ballymena United Seniors and beat Irish League Academy side Crusaders 2-1 at their Dunfane Park base, turning in an excellent display. The Wee Blues are starting to turn in some credible performances as the season nears its end.

The U12s match were also in action against an Irish League Academy side, only this time Carrick Rangers came out the better team by a three goal margin, against a ten man Northend.

Glen Speirs U15s played out a 1-1 draw with Southside Youths before a large crowd of parents and spectators at Smithfield.

In the Coleraine and District League, The Baby Blues U9s had another super day when again they defeated a team of U10s. This time it was Portrush U10s who were on the end of a Northend footballing lesson, with the Blues winning 4-1.
