Northend United Youth FC round-up: U-12s stay in top spot

IN the Belfast and East Antrim Youth League, Northend United U12s maintained their top of the table position when they beat second placed Carrick Rangers in a 3-1 scoreline at the Showgrounds on Saturday.

Elsewhere, the U13s travelled to Belfast to play North Belfast United in the Northern Ireland Boys Cup.

The young Blues were very unlucky when they led the game 2-1 with minutes remaining and conceded a goal in the last kick of the game which took the game to extra time. Visibly shaken, the young Blues went on to concede the winner in the second half of extra time.

In the National League, the U14s travelled to Magherafelt to play the Sky Blues and came away with a share of the points in an end to end game.

The U16s had a free weekend, with no scheduled match but look forward to getting back to action next Saturday with a home match against Glendowan.

As the younger teams prepare for the North West and Coleraine and District Youth League start up at the end of January, the U11s entertained Ballymoney United in a friendly match at the Clough MUGA on Friday night, coming out on top in a eight goal thriller.
