Northend United Youth FC round-up: U-13s ‘double up’ on trophies

AS the matches wrap-up for the season in the Belfast and East Antrim League, it’s been an outstanding final week for one of Northend’s young guns, the U13s, when they won the Shield Competition on Monday night against Comber Rec to complete a magnificent Double this season, adding to the Knock-Out Cup they also won recently.

Conor Graham delivered a man-of-the match performance in this match and Andrew Milligan, Zack Herbison and Johnston Kirkpatrick scored the all important goals for the Northend Blues.

This further compliments Northend United Youth’s best season ever as they have carried off an amazing eight major trophies in the Belfast and East Antrim League, a feat unsurpassed by any other Club in the League’s history.

Manager Mark Herbison stated “This win is a fitting end to a great season for the Team. Everyone played magnificently tonight to totally dominate this game from almost start to finish.

“To achieve the Double has been a great achievement for the Boys. In fact we just missed out on winning a Treble as we finished close runners-up in the League title.”

In another super team performance, Charlie Kinney’s U11s beat Irish League Academy Side; Carrick Rangers in their final league match of the season, recording a good 3-0 win.
